 Sun Ju Lee 

Sun Ju Lee was born 1978 in Daejeon, Korea but is now a London based artist. She studied Printmaking at the Royal College of Art and her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide. In 2009 Sun Ju Lee has been artist-in-residence at multiple prestigious institutions, expanding her influences and body of work.

 

She has been a Visiting Artist and Lecturer at the University of Leeds, Canterbury, Bedfordshire and in several locations in Korea. She has been awarded the National Glass Centre residency Award in 2016 and the Artist Fellowship Grant for International Residency Programme from the Arts Council Korea in 2009 and 2017.

 

Sun Ju Lee contemplatives the relationship between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, focusing on how the two forms interact with one another. Her work centres on a three-dimensional experience where all elements are to be viewed together with their specific surroundings, interacting with ambient and specific light which is changed by it.
