Artists: Fung Jun, Shi Rongqiang and Yu Cun
Fang Jun was born 1943 in Jiangsu, China. In 1965 he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal College and in 1981 he finished his postgraduate studies of Chinese painting at the Department of Fine Arts of Nanjing Institute of Arts. From 1983 he worked as a teacher at Nanjing Institute of Arts, and in 1990 he became Head of the Department of Fine Arts. Jun is still a member of the Chinese Painting Institute of Jiangsu Province, and one of the directors of Jiangsu Artists Association as well as a member of the Jiangsu Art Committee. Fang Jun has been given the Noma Literary Prize, a UNESCO award, and he has been awarded with the outstanding art works prize in the Sixth National Art Exhibition. His works can be found in art collections worldwide.
Rongqiang was born 1973 in Shandong, China. He graduated from Qufu Academy of Fine Arts of Shandong Normal University and Nanjing Art Institute of Fine Arts where he was tutored by Professor Zhou Jingxin. Currently, Shi Rongqiang is teaching at Qufu Academy of Fine Arts of Shandong Normal University and is a member of Nanjing Painting and Calligraphy Institute. His works are in famous collections such as the Liu Haisu Art Museum, Chengdu Museum of Modern Art, Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art and Zhu Qizhan Art Museum.
Yu Cun was born 1958 in Shanghai, China. He is now working and living in Suzhou, China.
During 1978 - 1982 he studied at the department of traditional Chinese realistic painting of China Nanjing University of the Arts. The majority of works by Yu Cun are oil paintings, pursuing a state of innocence and the childlike mind. Based on his vast and rich experience in visual imagery, Cun directly expresses his feelings through his creative process inspired by graffiti and collocation.
