Title: On Diversion
Exhibition: 23rd March to 23rd April 2017
Artists: Song Yongping and Ma Yuan
On Diversion showcases a wide range of works including print, installation and video by two Chinese artists: Song Yongping and Ma Yuan. Song Yongping takes the image of the dollar bill and transforms it into a statement which encourages the audience to reconsider our complex relationship with money and value in today's society. Ma Yuan’s works, on the other hand, explore the possibility of time and space and the subtle relationship between intangibility and tangibility. On Diversion can be interpreted as the symbolic title for the journey of both artists. It reflects the path of Song Yongping and Ma Yuan through their respective careers and their transition to Contemporary Art.
